My Dream to Beloved Africa

August 15, 2018

African scholars must shine!

It’s with no doubt that Africa is the second largest continent and populous, with about 30.2 million km including adjacent islands, it covers six percent of the Earth total surface area.

So, what bring me to this dream I have for Africa, is for my experience through the four years in Daystar University as I do my final semester in this august 2015, I woke up yesterday   morning motivated to go to class because nothing feels better than waking up from sleep knowing that this is just your last semester in school what every student dream of once they join campus.

I walked to class smiling and nothing could be any better than meeting an amazing lecturer who is time oriented, starts the lecture on time and finishes on time. Of course, as a Daystar university culture you never leave class without being given an assignment. The next thing after class ends is heading to the book loan to borrow the book for the semester use and of course get to open and check out your assignment for next class.

The book called “Electronic Media Management” by Pringle, P et al (2006) is my required book for the course that made me think too much in one night about Africa, How rich this continent is and the potentials it has which is not recognized at some point.

As I read through the book chapter one, which is comprehensive discussion about the five theories of management or the revolution, is mostly talked by one of the oldest psychologists like Abraham Maslow and others, going through all of the five theories is only rich with many English names which some of them are hard to pronounce or even hard to read, throughout the chapter.

These kept me wondering through  my reading instead of understanding, because I would love to see other scholars which are also Africans, being thought in schools and Universities, and I decided to share with you my fellow Africans   why can’t we start a dream that one day, one time, maybe in the year 3000, we will have grandchildren who are reading books in Africa, written by African scholars, in all levels of education!

I would also give credit where its due, with the few I know, there might be some of the books in other African countries that I don’t know about but, I  acknowledge the few countries in Africa which makes me proud to say that I read books in school by the late Nigerian Author Chinua Achebe (1958) “Things fall apart” My favorite quote is “The white men is very clever. He came quietly and peacefully with his religion, We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now see he has won our brothers and our clan no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen Apart”.

The second one is the  Kenyan book of “Terrorist of Abedare” by Ng’ang’a Mbugua, the few i can mention, the rest of the books is being taught to Africans in Africa is all full of old scholars of course English Men who died in as early as 1902 or 1967 the latest.

Lets dream together and have Africa teach their own knowledge with African scholars to promote their author, writer, poet, culture and so on.
